VAiRoma (Visual Analytics in Rome) is a tool that tells the whole story of Rome across its entire 3,000 year history, from a village on the Tiber to a vast empire to the capital of a modern state and seat of the Roman Catholic Church. It does this by organizing, in a meaningful way, a disorganized collection of over 189,000 articles on all aspects of Rome, its people, its geography and climate, and so on. Click this to view VAiRoma. All the capabilities of VAiRoma are available via a Web interface so that anyone anywhere can build her own personal history of Rome or add to a general history. We will be using VAiRoma in a variety of educational and scholarly settings, including for a large community of citizen scholars.
